Real estate in Pineville & South Charlotte
South Charlotte is my home base — my office is at Keller Williams Realty · Ballantyne Area. Pineville, Steele Creek, Ballantyne and the neighborhoods along South Boulevard and the Blue Line light rail combine big-city jobs and amenities with townhomes and single-family homes that first-time buyers can still reach, especially with down payment assistance.
✦ Why this area
What makes south Charlotte work
Pineville is the most affordable entry point into south Charlotte: a small town with its own downtown, minutes from Carolina Place Mall and I-485, with townhomes and older single-family homes that keep you close to everything without a Ballantyne price tag. Steele Creek, on the southwest side near the airport and Lake Wylie, adds newer construction that still fits many first-time budgets.
Ballantyne and the Carmel / Arboretum corridor are where my buyers go when they need more space or want to live near work: corporate campuses, private and public school options, and neighborhoods that hold their value. Prices are higher here, so pre-approval and a clear budget matter even more.
How I work in south Charlotte: I price from closed sales in the specific neighborhood, I confirm which assistance programs apply to the address and to your income before we tour, and I manage the whole transaction in English or Spanish, whichever you prefer, from the first showing to closing.

Questions about Pineville
Is Pineville a good fit for a first home?
Yes — Pineville is one of the more affordable parts of south Mecklenburg County and sits next to major shopping, the light rail and I-485. Townhomes and older single-family homes there are a common first purchase for my clients, often combined with NC down payment assistance.
Can I use down payment assistance in south Charlotte?
Yes. The NC 1st Home Advantage Down Payment (up to $15,000, subject to qualification) works anywhere in Mecklenburg County, and some lender-backed grants target specific census tracts in Charlotte — we verify the exact address. Income limits apply, so we check your numbers first on a free 20-minute call.
What is the difference between Pineville, Ballantyne and Steele Creek?
Pineville is a small town with the lowest prices of the three and quick access to I-485 and the mall. Ballantyne is a master-planned corporate and residential area with higher prices; the assigned school depends on the address within Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Steele Creek is newer construction on the southwest side near the airport and Lake Wylie, often with a lower price per square foot.
